CHILDREN
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14) Children are important at First Baptist. We want them to have a safe, loving and nurturing environment to grow into healthy and strong young men and women of God. So children are welcome at our worship services, and we have special events and programs for them.
CHILDREN SERMONS
During our Sunday morning worship service we have a children’s sermon. During this children and youth time, the children are invited to the front where our pastor will pull out a surprise from his brown paper bag. From items like m&m’s, balloons and pennies, God’s truths are explained on a children’s level. Of course sometimes Bob the magician makes a special appearance to do a children’s sermon that has a little bit of magic in it.
NURSERY
Each week a nursery is provided during the worship service for young children. The nursery is staffed by loving and attentive volunteers from our congregation. Our nursery has recently been remodeled and dedicated in memory of Pastor Steve Hanrahan.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Special events and parties are held for the children throughout the course of the year. Some fun events held in 2009 were an Easter Egg hunt, Summer Church picnic with children’s games, Noah’s Ark party and breakfast with Santa.
